Create an Account and Open the User Dashboard
Start by opening the VPNCross account creation page and entering a username and password. No email address is required. Before submitting, check that your username is correct and choose a password you don't use on other sites. Your account details are needed for future sign-ins and subscription management, so consider saving them in a password manager rather than relying on a browser session.
Once your account is created, open the user dashboard. If you land back on the sign-in page, log in with the username and password you just saved; there’s no need to create another account. Use the dashboard to check your subscription, choose a plan, get the client, or submit a support ticket. This guide is an information page, so it won’t display your personal subscription. If you need to switch between the guide and dashboard, keep both pages open.
Once you're in the dashboard, make sure you're signed in to the account you intend to use. If another account is already signed in on your device, sign out before switching to avoid splitting payments and subscriptions across accounts. After confirming the account, choose a plan. If you already have an active subscription, skip ahead to the steps for getting it.
Choose a Plan and Check Your Subscription Status
Open the plans section in the user dashboard and decide which billing option fits your needs. Monthly plans are suited to ongoing use: ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, or ¥28/month for 500GB. Monthly data resets on your billing date, not at the start of each calendar month. Compare the price, data allowance, and reset schedule together before choosing.
If your usage varies, consider a data package: ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, or ¥658/3000GB. Package data lasts until it’s used and never expires. Packages work differently from monthly plans, so their data allowance does not renew each month. See the plans and pricing page for a full comparison. This guide doesn’t compare the per-unit data cost.
After choosing a plan, continue to the order page and double-check the plan name, amount, and payment method. VPNCross accepts Alipay, WeChat Pay, and USDT. Follow the instructions on the order page to pay. If you're redirected to a payment page, return to the original order or your account overview afterward to check the result. Don’t assume the subscription is active just because the payment page closed, and don’t place the same order again before its status is confirmed.
Once your account overview shows an active subscription, continue to get your subscription link. VPNCross offers a 60-day money-back guarantee; see the Terms of Service for how to request a refund. If you want to upgrade an existing monthly plan partway through its term, the price difference is converted into remaining days. Review the change shown in the dashboard before confirming, rather than estimating it from a full month’s price.
Get Your Subscription Link from the Dashboard
Return to the account overview in the user dashboard and find the subscription details or import section. First, check that the plan and data allowance match your selection, then look for the import option for your client. If the dashboard offers one-click import, use it after installing the client. To import manually, copy the subscription link. You need the full link—not the dashboard URL in your browser’s address bar or the URL of the plan order page.
The subscription link lets your client retrieve route configurations; it isn’t a regular webpage bookmark. It typically contains account credentials, so keep it as secure as a password. Don’t post it in public forums or share screenshots that show it with people who don’t need access. If you need help, describe the error and hide the link and other sensitive account details. If you think the link has been exposed, check the dashboard for a reset option or ask support how to proceed.
The example below shows what a link looks like; it cannot be imported. Sign in and copy the actual link from your own account overview:
https://example.com/sub?token=YOUR_TOKEN
Keep the copied link on your clipboard, then open the client section to get the app for your platform. You can sign in to get the Windows, macOS, Android, or Linux client; iOS downloads require an active plan. Getting the client and getting an active subscription are separate steps. Installing the app won’t automatically add routes from your account—you still need to import your subscription.
Import the Client for Your Platform
Open the client section in the user dashboard and choose the app for your device. Use the client and import method provided in the dashboard for your subscription. Avoid downloading similarly named apps from search results. The steps below show where to find the relevant options; menu names may vary by version. For one-click import, when prompted to open an app, confirm that its name matches the client you installed.
Windows: Import a Remote Subscription
Get and install the Windows client from the dashboard. Open it and look for “Configuration,” “Subscription,” or an option to add a new item. For manual setup, choose the option to import from a URL or link, then paste the full subscription address copied from your account overview. The name field is just for identifying the configuration on your device; you can enter VPNCross. Save it, update or download the configuration, and wait for the route list to appear. Then set this configuration as the one in use.
If you use the dashboard’s one-click import, check in the client that the configuration was saved and that the list isn’t empty. Windows clients may offer system proxy and virtual network adapter modes. For your first setup, follow the dashboard instructions and don’t run multiple proxy apps at the same time. If the client requests system permissions, verify that the prompt comes from the app you just installed before allowing it.
macOS: Save the Subscription and Enable Its Configuration
Get the macOS client and follow the system’s installation prompts. Then open the app’s configuration or subscription manager. Choose to add a remote configuration, paste the full link you copied, and save it. If the app offers both a local file and a remote link, choose the remote link for these steps. Don’t paste the subscription URL into a local file path or a single-server address field.
After the configuration updates successfully, select the VPNCross entry and check the route list. Some clients put the connection toggle in the menu bar rather than the main window. Closing the window may not disconnect you, and you may not need to keep it open while connected. If a network permissions prompt appears the first time you run the app, verify its identity and follow the prompt to grant access.
Android: Update Your Subscription Before Connecting
Sign in to the dashboard to get and install the Android client. Open the app, go to configuration management, and look for an option to add a subscription or import from a link. Paste the address, save it, and wait for the remote configuration to download. Then select it as the active configuration. If the dashboard supports one-click import, tap its import option in your browser, then return to the client and confirm that the routes appear—not just that the app opened.
The first time you tap Connect, Android will usually ask for permission to set up a VPN connection. Confirm the prompt comes from the client you’re using, then allow it and check the connection status in the app. If another VPN app is already connected, disconnect it before trying again. Importing a subscription without enabling the connection won’t automatically route your device’s traffic through the selected route.
iOS: Get the Client and Allow It to Add a Configuration
If you use iOS, first make sure your account has an active plan. Then get the client download link from the dashboard’s client section. Once the client is ready, use the dashboard’s import option or look in the app for options such as “Subscription,” “Add Configuration,” or “Import from URL.” Paste the full link and save it. After updating, check that the regional routes appear, then choose one to use.
The first time you connect, iOS will ask permission to add a VPN configuration. Follow the system prompt to authorize the device. Then return to the client, connect, and check that the VPN status in iOS matches the app. If importing doesn’t add a configuration, check the subscription list in the client and try pasting the link manually. Avoid adding multiple configurations with the same name, as that can make it harder to choose the right one later.
Connect to a Route and Verify Your Exit IP
After importing, update your subscription once, then choose a region from the route list. For your first test, pick a route that’s easy to identify and note its region so you can check the exit IP afterward. Turn on the client’s connection toggle, grant permissions when prompted, and wait until the client clearly shows that it’s connected. Selecting a route, opening the app, or seeing a configuration name isn’t enough to establish a connection.
Next, open the IP lookup page and check whether the exit information for your current request matches the selected route. Results depend on IP geolocation databases, so the city shown may vary; don’t judge success by the city name alone. What matters is whether the request uses the expected exit. Then open a site you actually use and check that pages load and you can sign in and access content. The site’s own account permissions, subscription requirements, and regional rules still apply.
With smart routing enabled, different sites may take different network paths. So a result from a single lookup page doesn’t prove that every app uses the same exit. Check the client’s connection log or rule-match indicator for more context. If you’re not familiar with the rules, leave the default configuration in place rather than changing routing settings just to make every page show the same region.
If a page won’t load, first check that your device can access regular websites over its current network. Then confirm your subscription is active, you still have data available, and the client has selected the configuration you just imported. Manually update the subscription and reconnect to the current route. If the issue persists, try another route and check what changes. This makes it easier to pinpoint the cause than changing protocols, routing rules, and system settings all at once.
If only one site is having trouble while other sites work, first determine whether the issue is with your account on that site or with the connection. If the client says it can’t fetch the subscription, return to your account overview and copy the link again. Check that it doesn’t contain extra spaces or line breaks, and that no characters are missing. Don’t send the link to an unknown online conversion site. For compatibility issues, see the protocol and routing technical reference. If you still need help, submit a ticket through the user dashboard, including your platform, the exact error message, and the steps you’ve tried. Don’t include the full subscription link.
Once verified, everyday use is simple: open the client, check the active configuration, choose a route, and connect. If the route list doesn’t match the dashboard instructions, update the subscription. This guide doesn’t specify a universal auto-update interval; behavior depends on the client settings. To use another device, repeat the import steps—you don’t need to create another account.
